Drone Defense 2 Drones Tier List (Roles)

This is the letter sheet for Drone Defense 2. It ranks roles using the 15-drone sequel roster, not the original game’s encyclopedia. If a name is not in the Roblox tags, badges, or current coverage, it is not auto-S here.

Use beginner loadouts to actually place a board. Use the roster to see how you own each name. Upgrade before you argue with a letter — see upgrade tiers.

S — build around these roles

Eco specialist. Whatever drone prints Oil fastest on your account is S if it is tiered. The sequel still runs an Oil economy inside matches. Without eco, S-tier DPS is a very expensive leak. If you own a dedicated money-maker, it occupies this slot even if a YouTuber never says its name.

Reliable hold (Tessa / worker-style lane). Tessa is a confirmed core name and the Collector badge even awards her. A hold unit that covers the longest path at modest Oil is S on Easy/Medium. Do not swap it for a flashy solver skin mid-ladder.

N / Overseer N as a named carry. Marketing for the sequel specifically calls out deploying Overseer N. If you own N or an Overseer variant and it is tiered, it is an S-shaped backline after eco exists. If it is not tiered, it is a Keybug pit.

A — win Medium, struggle on Hard

Uzi-line DPS. Uzi is in the official tag list for a reason. Single-target or rail-style Uzi kits (when you actually own that sequel version) sit A: they close waves once the hold is down. They are not your first placement.

V and J (disassembly pressure). V has a five-quest chain; J is tagged. They are A when they add damage without eating the eco budget. They become B if you place them first.

Doll (quest DPS). Ten quests is a lot. The unit you get for living through Accomplice belongs in A for people who finished the chain, not for people who just spawned.

B — fine, not a plan

Cyn / Zombie Cyn / Tesscyn / Cynessa. All four names are in the sequel’s tag soup or coverage. They are splashy solver-themed toys. On a new board they are B because they tempt you to skip eco. On a finished Hard board they can climb to A. Zombie Cyn is explicitly named in current sequel coverage as a deployable — treat her as a late pickup, not a starter.

Alice, Beau, Lizzy. Tagged or badge-adjacent support/sidegrades. B unless a patch makes one of them the eco. Lizzy’s room is also a secret landmark, which does not make her a lane.

C — event and flex

Ducky N, Scuba Tessa. Summer 2026 faces. Buy them for badges and collection. Rank them C for Medium until they prove hold or eco. Do not spend the last Shells on a C-tier flex if your hold is still tier 1. See the Summer Event spend order.

Nori. Level 100 / End of the Road award. C for anyone who is not level 100. A for people who actually have her and a reason to slot her.

D — traps this month

Anything you do not own. Ranking a phantom unit is how original-game lists infected sequel searches. If it is not in your index, it is D for you.

Un-tiered legendaries. A legendary at rank 1 is D in practice. The letter on a wiki does not attack the path.

Copied original-game S names (Bubble V, Shockwave J, Powered Railgun Uzi, The Entity, etc.) until they are confirmed in the 15 and sitting in your index. This is a sequel. We will not keep a zombie S-tier from 7 million visits ago.

How to use the letters in a match

Place B/S eco, then S/A hold, then A backline. Spend Oil on eco levels first. If you are in co-op, call roles in chat so three people do not all bring Uzi-line DPS. Recheck this page after updates and after the Void event, not after every Discord screenshot.

For the exact three-slot bar, open the loadout planner. For “what should I summon with leftover Keybugs,” pick the first missing S/A role, not a random C event face.
