Drone Defense 2 Guides

Walkthroughs for the early-game wall, maps, perks, quests, and the Summer Event.

Guides Hub

Drone Defense 2 looks like a cute Murder Drones toybox and then immediately bills you for every missed upgrade. Solver Games even printed the warning in the Roblox description: the early game is difficult, and you should increase unit tiers if you are struggling. These guides exist so you do not spend a week learning that the hard way.

Start with Getting Started if you have not cleared Easy. Open controls and hotkeys if 1–5 refuse to redeem a code. Jump to upgrade tiers if Easy is fine but Medium deletes the base. Use farm resources when the bottleneck is Keybugs or Batteries rather than skill. Maps and difficulties covers Easy through the Abyss. Summer Event is the August 2026 market and Scuba Tessa line. Secrets and quests is the purple-red-yellow stuff plus Doll, V, and Nori.

  • How to play — lobby, elevators, Oil, placing units. That is Getting Started, with a real Medium solo video mid-article.
  • How to get Keybugs / Shells / Batteries — farming plus the codes hub.
  • How to beat Medium / Hard / Void — maps page, then the drone tier list.
  • How to complete quests and secrets — secrets page, badges, keypad 1987, radio dial.
  • How to protect the base — eco first, then DPS, then perks. See loadout planner.

How a session should feel after the guides

You redeem codes, pick a beginner loadout, place eco before luxury DPS, upgrade tiers between matches, and only then vote Medium. If you skip tiers, no amount of scripts or extra Shells will save the pathing. Oil is an in-match currency; you generate it by killing and by eco units, then you spend it on placement and upgrades. Keybugs are the lobby currency that decides whether you even own the unit you are trying to place.

Co-op is online on 20-player servers with match elevators. You can solo — the Medium tutorial we embed on Getting Started is a solo clear — but a coordinated duo on Hard is how most players first see a Battery spike. There is no local split-screen.

Read order

  1. Getting Started — first Easy clear, what to buy.
  2. Controls — lobby Shift versus match 1–5.
  3. How to redeem codes — 250 Keybugs sitting in the lobby.
  4. Upgrade tiers — the official early-game fix.
  5. Farm resources — Keybug/Battery loops.
  6. Maps and difficulties — when to vote Hard, when to wait for Void.
  7. Summer Event — Shells, Ducky N, Scuba Tessa.
  8. Secrets and quests — badges that are not just “win the map.”

Then park on the tier list and the drone roster so you stop summoning blindly. The updates hub tells you whether a patch just changed any of this.

What we will not invent

The sequel ships 15 drones, not the 50-plus roster from the original game. We list confirmed names (Uzi, N, V, J, Cyn, Tesscyn, Cynessa, Tessa, Alice, Beau, Doll, Nori, Lizzy, Ducky N, Scuba Tessa, plus mentioned units like Overseer N and Zombie Cyn) without fake DPS tables. If a patch adds the 16th drone, it lands on the roster page, not as a rumour in these guides.

Use these walkthroughs as the spine. Deep numbers, when we have them, live on the tools and tier-list pages so the guides stay readable on a phone between matches.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, tiers, maps, and the Summer Event.

I keep losing Easy. Which guide first?

Getting Started, then upgrade tiers. Redeem codes before you summon so you are not placing a tier-1 starter into a leaking lane.

Is Void Mode in Drone Defense 2?

Yes. The Abyss badge and a 5 Sep 2026 Void Mode event sit on the maps and updates pages. Clear Easy, Medium, and Hard first.

Do I need the original Drone Defense guides?

Only for nostalgia. Economies, perks, and the 15-drone roster are sequel-specific. Start here, then visit the original-game links page if you still play both.

Where is the Medium video?

Embedded in Getting Started. One video per page, mid-article, lazy-loaded.
